Special Event - Year 4 Visit the Sikh Temple

24 June 2016

For our RE topic this half term, we have been looking at the Sikh faith. We have explored the similarities and differences of our own faith and we found out that Sikhs believe in only one God.

We discovered the 5K’s and what they stand for.

We went into a prayer hall and saw the Guru Granth Sahib’s throne and special bedroom. It was decorated in the most beautiful and finest material.

We really enjoyed our visit and found out lots of information about the faith.

The throne, where the Holy Book (Guru Granth Sahib) is sat.
A stained glass window that shows the beginning of Sikhism.

Exploring the Langar, this is a kitchen where food is prepared daily and shared with everyone. Everybody is welcome to eat here.
