The Life-Cycle of a Ladybird

Nursery have been observing the life-cycle of a ladybird in the outdoor area.

We found some ladybird eggs.

The eggs hatched, these are baby ladybirds (larvae).

This is a ladybird pupa... soon the adult ladybird will emerge.

We'll be waiting and watching!

In Year 4 this week we have been starting our new DT topic of American Food🇺🇸 The children started to learn about traditional American food and we looked at the era of the 1950's where American food took off! We looked at apple pie and the saying "He's as American as Apple Pie". We tried a piece of apple pie and shared our opinions of it, some children loved it and others thought it was too sweet for them. We then made our own apple characters.

Year 3's Amazing Anglo Saxon Work

In year 3 we have been learning all about Anglo Saxons and the types of clothing which was worn during that time period. We then made our very own Anglo Saxon broaches.

Reception P.E Parachute Fun!

During our P.E lesson, Reception class had so much fun using the parachute. We worked together as a team, listened carefully to instructions and used the parachute safely.

Making Fire Engines.

During our D and T topic we looked at Fire engines and how they move. We found it so interesting as we also learned about The Great Fire of London in our History lessons. We looked at the first-ever Fire Engine and the most recent ones that we see on the road today. We spoke about how they move and all the different parts of a vehicle. We designed our Fire Engines and eventually got to make them! We had so much fun and really worked on our cutting and design skills.
