Reception class had a wonderful time searching for different species of bird on our school field. We spotted pigeons, seagulls, crows, magpies and even a tiny robin.
St Philip’s had the honour of meeting the Mayor of Sandwell, Richard Jones.
The Mayor and his team had a wonderful time visiting each class and answered lots of questions posed by the children.
The Mayor also attended our Chinese New Year Celebration assembly, which was hosted by our amazing reception class children.
We are so thankful to the Mayor and his team for all of the incredible work they do for the community and for taking time out of their busy schedule to come and visit our school.
Today, during our topic lesson, the children had so much fun exploring different states of matter.
We used paint brushes to melt ice and investigated different ways we could make the ice melt quicker. The children then worked ingroups to discuss what happens during each change in the waters physical state.
