Reception Class Remember in November

This week Reception class have been thinking about the meaning of the poppy flower and why they are so important in November.
The children made clay poppy sculptures, created finger print poppy meadows and paused for 2 minutes on Friday 11th November at 11 o’clock, to think about allthose in heaven.

Year 2: Super Sculptures

In Year 2 we have been looking at the work of Anthony Gormley and Henry Moore. Here is some of our work inspired by these artists.

Year 2: Science

In Year 2 we did an experiment to find out how many germs are on our hands. This is how we set up the experiment...

This is what happened!

Reception class Autumn fun

We have been looking closely at God’s wonderful world and observing Summer turn into Autumn. We had so much fun going on an Autumn walk exploring all the signs of Autumn and used autumnal objects to create some beautiful artwork.

We also learned about pumpkins and read the story ‘Pumpkin Soup’, written by Helen Cooper, which is a story all about working together and appreciating each other’s talents.
We created observational artwork of pumpkins and had lots of messy fun scooping out the flesh and turning our pumpkins into lanterns.

Bang! Whoosh! Crackle! Pop!

Reception class have been learning all about Bonfire night and made some super firework arts and crafts.
We decorated firework cookies, used paint pens to create firework drawings, created bonfire night collages and used geo-boards to develop our fine motor skills and make 2D shapefireworks and rockets 🚀
